Farmhouse Kitchen

Chula Vista

The walls of an enclosed kitchen were knocked down to create an expansive, inviting space where the kitchen, dining and family rooms now share a free-flowing, family-friendly environment that says “make yourself at home.” The large skylight gives it all a soft-focus charm. The starting point for the design and color scheme was the heirloom chair shown to the right—with muted, warm tones and a cottage-style ambiance. This fully open kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining and family room areas, with a versatile island forming a natural hub of activity. The view from the entrance hallway draws guests directly into the heart of the home. To right, the ivory-colored island with marble-toned Quartz countertop enhances the warmth of the room. The stained-glass detailing in the glass-fronted cabinetry echoes the cheerfulness of the Tiffany-style lamps.
